Google provides a built in dictionary tool that searches through various dictionaries at once. You can open this tool i.e. dictionary by simply typing "define:temple". The results will show numerous definations in different contexts.

Dictionary.com is a full-fleged dictionary that's much more powerful than Google's. You can download & install the dictionary.com toolbar for easier access to it.

Apart from the usual meaning of a word, it also shows alternative meanings sourced from other dictionaries, word origin,pronouncitation guide, and the usage of the word( as noun, adjective, plural, etc.). And don't worry about spellings, dictionary.com suggests alternatives to misspelled words.
